How To Play HORSE Poker

When people play HORSE they play these five poker variations. The rules of each of these games are described below.

Holdem Poker Rules

Each player receives two cards that they may look at but keep hidden from the other players. The dealer puts five community cards in the middle with four rounds of betting. Each player tries to make the best hand of five cards using their two cards and any three of the cards in the community pile.

Omaha Poker Rules

Omaha poker rules are very similar to those of Texas Hold'em. Each player receives four cards but must choose exactly two of the four cards to create their hand in combination with any three of the five community cards in the middle of the table.

Razz Poker Rules

Razz is a variant of Seven Card Stud but instead of trying to get the highest hand, you are trying to get the lowest one. The ace being the lowest card, you are trying to get the lowest cards without any pairs.

Seven Card Stud

In Seven Card Stud, players try to get the strongest five-card hand. The player with the highest hand wins the pot. Players are dealt cards one by one in a circle, betting after receiving the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh card, choosing their five best in the end of the round.

Seven Card Stud Eight or Better

This game is like Seven Card Stud but is played hi-lo. The highest hand wins and so does the lowest. The lowest hand must qualify by not having any pairs or any card higher than 8.
